Land art installation Atacama (Chile), 2016.
Land art project of lasers lights ephemeral installations in different sites of the Atacama desert, where the horizon cleared and the dimensions of the space are used to establish a visual balance between the ground plane and the the sky.In the continuity of the project presented in London “Geometry”(2012), laser and tracing (modern rule of the geometers, laser standard) are a way of positioning in the cosmos. The light of the dense and rectilinear laser defies by its scope the perception of space and gives the sensation of touching at a distance. This large-scale drawing tool allows me to establish spatial relations according to the sites, at a given instant and in a given place. From high power laser pointers, the beams trace lines connecting specific sites to celestial objects at great distances. Like the cold dark cloud nebula LDN 1768 and his stellar nuseries observed in march 2016 by the Atacama Large Telescope Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) observatory, that is sensitive to submillimetre radiation.
The beams of light manifest a relation of simultaneity between the space that is created and what moves (the Earth )
